Thanks to Carol from Taiwan Bio-art, I was able to obtain parts to build a DIY microscope designed by Scimage. The magnifying lens itself can be taken out from a laser pointer. Initially I used a blue LED light source but it was not bright enough. Later I replaced it with a much more powerful white LED.
